It had been said that man can live for days without food for as long as he drinks water.  This indirectly points out the value of water over food but the question is:  what if the water is unclean?  Though our planet is composed more of oceans and seas, we are currently facing water shortages as our need is for fresh water.  Probably it is time to hear from our local plumber!

The Origin and Purpose of the National Plumbing Day:

The National Plumbing Day was first celebrated on March 11, 2010 as instigated by the World Plumbing Council.  The inaugural theme opened the door of awareness and vitality of the great contribution of plumbers in the health and security of the modern world.

The World Plumbing Council promotes the responsibility of plumbing in making better public well-being and safeguarding the ecosystem.  This is done by the Council through uniting the World Plumbing Industry for the good of all mankind.

The National Plumbing Day celebration 2015:

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officers, a supportive member of the World Plumbing Council since 1926, is sponsoring a video and photo contest

The goal of this contest is, through the use of the different social media sites, increase consciousness and truly understand the salient role of plumbers in mankind’s everyday living.  Activities stressing the importance and need for non-toxic and fresh drinking water; and, sufficient public health systems shall be most welcomed.
